Software Company Ltd. attended, as part of a Bulgarian delegation, the KEY Energy Transition Expo, which took place in Rimini, Italy, from 28 February through 1 March 2024. This exposition is the most important European event dedicated to technologies, services, integrated solutions for energy efficiency, and renewable energies in Italy and the Mediterranean basin. It was organized by the Italian Exhibition Group, an organization with a recognized reputation and more than seventy years in operation. In his opening remarks Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, reflected on the accumulated experience and the enthusiasm that characterizes the interaction among professional operators from all over the world.

Software Company was invited to the Bulgarian delegation by Eng.M.Sc. Kiril Zheliazkov, President of the Bulgarian Branch Association of Electronic Industry and Informatics (BBAEII). BBAEII is a non-profit organization of companies dealing with the development, production, distribution and service maintenance of electronic and computing technics and software.

This year the expo became an even more international show, with one third of the exhibiting brands coming from abroad, as did over 500 top businessmen and international delegations from 57 countries.

What explains KEY’s attractiveness is the fact that the expo provides a complete overview of the world of energy transition, show-casing institutions, organizations, companies and start-ups contributing to the energy transition in various fields. For Software Company Ltd. the focus areas of interest were energy efficiency for industry, cutting edge technical solutions, IT services, and digitalization. KEY’s integrated internationalization strategy makes the event a guiding example for Europe and its neighboring regions. North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and the Balkans were the most represented areas. In Africa, for instance, KEY cooperates intensely with international institutions such as Renewable Energy Solutions for Africa (Res4Africa), the Business Council for Africa and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). This allows service providers and users alike to further increase the development and application of innovative technologies and solutions for the energy transition.

On its part, Software Company Ltd. has collaborated successfully with European and African partners in a variety of topics, including but not limited to green energy and energy efficiency, nuclear safety and security. Eight African countries, namely Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, the DRC, Mozambique, and Madagascar use a web-based Information Tracking System, designed by the Company, to exchange data on the transportation of uranium ore concentrate and other radioactive materials across national borders. It has also developed many other projects to facilitate the use of other forms of renewable energy (including solar and wind energy) energy access, and energy security.
